The Front Desk Check-In List: Running Attendance From the Desk, Not Just the Door

Most centres know the door: a tablet or scanner, and students tap or scan themselves in and out. It works. But anyone who has worked the front desk knows the other half of the afternoon — a parent at the counter, a phone ringing, and three students who still haven't checked in with two minutes before class.

That is the gap a front desk check-in list fills. It is a single screen, at the desk, showing today's roster and who is actually in. Staff check a student in or confirm them out with a click, and the desk and the door stay in sync — if a student scans at the door a moment later, the list updates rather than double-books their status.

What it changes about the afternoon

It is optional, and that is the point

Every centre runs the door differently. The check-in list ships off by default — you turn it on in attendance settings when the desk workflow calls for it, and turn it off again without anything else changing. The door keeps working exactly as it did.

There is also a full-screen desk mode for a dedicated monitor at the counter, so the list can live where the front desk actually is rather than on someone's browser tab.

Attendance lives in Schedulo's Learning Centre plan ($24.99 per centre per month), alongside booking, family accounts and the live schedule view — the desk list is one more surface on the same attendance record, not a separate system to maintain.

Try it with your real roster

The 30-day trial comes with guided setup — we help you turn on the pieces your centre needs and go live.
